The Sahara Desert occupies 40% of the country of Tunisia in North Africa. It is the biggest desert in the world with more than 10million kms2 that extend to other countries like Magreb, Morocco, Argelia and Libya.

The Sahara Desert in Tunisia, Africa is composed of Erg's, which are the sand dunes that move in function of the wind, and by the Hamada's which are rock formations in the desert. The Sahara, as a desert has an obvious desert climate, and even though it may seem incredible to believe it has proof that it has snowed in the area like they say in the year 1979, more percisely on February 18th.

The Sahara Desert is a tourist destination, and place where many visit when on holiday in Tunisia. Most tourist go to explore ths area whether it be on camel back or a 4X4. The only thing they advise is that you do not go off alone, and that you always take someone who knows there way around.
